3/16/10 - Product Design Firm SL! International Creates Face of Next Generation Heart Monitors

LOS ANGELES, CA (MARKET WIRE) 03/16/10 Cardiac Network, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: CNWI) of California, a leading developer of innovative remote monitoring cardiac monitoring devices, will combine new age technology with superior design through its new collaboration with product design firm SL! International.

SL! International has decades of experience in creating innovative designs for companies like CardioMedics, Inc. (www.cardiomedics.com), IBM, Motorola, Jitterbug's competitor SOS Communications, and several mobile/durable medical device, pda, and iPod accessory manufacturers. SL! International specializes in innovative designs that leverage the latest trends in micronization to make devices more impact resistant, portable, compact, and user-friendly. An award winning west-coast phenomenon, SL! International has made a big splash across multiple industries. The company's sleek, innovative designs combine utility with style. Under the guidance of Karel Slovacek, the company's innovative work was used in the original mobile PC inventory control systems for IBM and Wal-Mart's decade-old partnership. In addition to redefining interfaces and interconnectivity in hardware that provides tracking for users in the inventory and transportation industries, SL! International designs have also been featured in products such as cell phones, radar detectors, speakers, binoculars, digital cameras, digital media players, and life-saving and first aid devices.

Michael Swartzburg, CEO of Cardiac Network, observed, "We want our next-generation of handheld heart monitoring devices to be more affordable and more accessible than the older technology. Because our new device is intended to be part of a user's daily routine, a design that enhances convenience and improves ease of use is just as important as the product's underlying technology and capabilities. With SL! International working with us, we are ready to finalize our conceptual design, and move forward with bringing this life-saving and timely technology to market."

In particular, SL! International will give Cardiac Network's new life-saving devices a series of portable design features that will cater to the special needs of the elderly and disabled. Proposed product design features never before included together in a cardiac monitor product will include a large interface for patients with vision impairment, and controls enabling easy access by patients suffering from arthritis.

"Cardiac Network's devices will be designed to address the special needs of multitudes of patients with physical limitations or impairments, whose needs have yet to be addressed by the currently available cardiac monitor products. SL! has the expertise to prepare innovative yet practical, tooling-ready designs, that will expedite getting Cardiac's next generation, newly enhanced products to market," commented Wayne Irving, CEO of Gecco Consulting, LLC.

Taking a revolutionary departure from the approach of other device combinations, each of which must each be carried separately, the Cardiac Network device will incorporate several designs that will make it remarkably easy to wear and utilize.
